An objection of the Coffee Board of India is to regulate the nationwide business of coffee growing, distribution and trading. The Government of India had established the Coffee Board under Coffee Act VII in 1942.

The Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) of Coffee Board is valid for 3 years from the date of obtaining Registration.
A coffee exporter from India can not export coffee outside India without obtaining Export Permit (Form-C) from Coffee Board of India under Rule 44(2) Coffee Act 1942
